Jazmine Sullivan

JazmineJazmine is a Philadelphia native was born and raised in the city. Pam is Jazmine's mom, and was once a backing singer with Philadelphia International Records. At the age of five, old, her father landed in the role of curator for Philadelphia's Historic Strawberry Mansion in the Strawberry Mansion section, and her family relocated to the historic landmark. She was a graduate in 2005 of Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts in which she was singing music major. Sullivan was a contralto singer for the youth choir, and several years later she joined the adult choir. Sullivan wasn't exposed to secular music at first. "When when I was eleven years old, I was approached by someone asking to enroll me on an album of gospel music. I wasn't going to sign up for that," she says. "Then when McDonald's held a contest for students in big cities I was invited to perform 'Accept What God Does' on Showtime in the Apollo and the audience loved it". She was just 13 when she sang along alongside Stevie Wonder for his grandson's birthday. Sullivan At the age of 15 began her career with Jive Records. It was her first time signing with Jive Records in the year 15. The singer-songwriter produced an entire album. However, this album was never released. Sullivan was eventually removed from the label. She had a good working relationship along with Missy Elliott. Elliott produced numerous tracks for her and tracks, such as "Backstabbers" that was written by Timbaland.
